Established on October 18, 2011, Chongqing Landai Powertrain Corp., Ltd. is a share-holding company derived from its predecessor Chongqing Landai Industry Co., Ltd. which was set up in 1996. The main business of the company is development and manufacturing of automotive transmissions, transmission gears, aluminum housing cases as well as motor bike gear sets. These products are adopted by vehicle OEMs such as Geely Motor, Chery Motor, Hawtai Motor, Zotye Motor, Lifan Motor, Qianjiang, etc. Some of the products are even exported to middle-east and south-east countries like Iran and India.
After nearly 20 years growing, the company turns out to be one of the leading manufacturers of automotive transmissions in China. It ranks No.6 among all China’s gear manufacturers in the year of 2009. With abundant knowledge and experience accumulated in the earlier stage of gear manufacturing, the company is now able to provide a couple of CBU gearboxes for both rear-wheel drive and front-wheel ...[More] vehicles. Lifan Motor, Dongfeng Motor, Zotye Motor and Iranian Saipa are customers who are using these gearboxes on their cars or light-duty commercial vehicles. In the meantime, development of automatic transmission is also in the pipeline of the company. The target is to provide a high-performance and cost effective automatic gearbox for economic family cars in the near future.
The company now owns a municipal-level R&D center. Meanwhile, it has established a strategic partnership with Chongqing University in a bid to overcome the technical bottle necks of powertrain system. More important is, Landai owns dozens of patent technology related to the manufacturing of gear and gearbox.
All necessary machines and equipment required for gearbox manufacturing are available at Landai plant, which include gear-cutting production lines, gear test and inspection machines, high-pressure die casting machines, housing case and cylinder block machining lines, heat treatment production lines, gearbox assembly lines as well as a rig test laboratory for testing the durability and reliability of gearbox. While importing key machines from overseas, the company has made great effort to enhance its in-process control and is certified with quality management systems of ISO9001:2008 and ISO/TS16949:2002. Lean manufacturing mode is also carried out at the company to improve the production efficiency and reduce material stock in the the production chain. Contributing to its excellent performance in product quality and after-sales service, Landai for a few time has been granted with the honor of “Excellent Supplier” and “Core Supplier” by Chery Motor, Lifan Motor and Qianjiang Motor.
