Saab 9-3 ACC have the common dead / fading / disappearing pixels on the LCD display that shows the time, radio, and the on board computer messages and other functions. The problem lies with the Saab 9-3 ACC Ribbon Cable / Flat LCD cable that connects the LCD display to the circuit board of the instrument cluster.

Please re-use thick plastic attached to the original cable and stick it to this ribbon cable. After you solder the ribbon cable to the LCD - we strongly suggest to cover the contact side with a piece of tape (of course keeping the part which goes into the connector on the circuit board uncovered)

The problem of missing pixels probably most common for all above mentioned models. It is not only very frustrating to have an expensive car and being unable to see the mileage or information messages, but some states require mileage to be visible during the emission test.
