The brake light switch is a mechanical device used to control operation of vehicle stop lights. The switch is designed to complete the circuit with the application of the brake pedal allowing stop light operation. A secondary function of the switch may be performed on vehicles with cruise control. The brake light switch is used to interrupt the cruise control circuit and disengage the cruise control when the brake pedal is applied.

The oil pressure sensor is an automotive electronic transducer which allows more electricity to flow in direct proportion to the pressure applied to a pressure sensitive medium. That electrical signal is translated to a pressure reading on the gauge on the dash of the car. It is mounted on the outside of the engine block and connected by a drilled passage to the pressurize oil gallery ( a fancy name for the main oil passage ) so that the sensor reads the pressure in the gallery directly.

The coolant temp sensor( cts) reads the temp of the engine and adjust the fuel air mixture depending on the temp. if its cold out the sensor will adjust for more fuel to ease the start of the engine. The Coolant Temperature Sensor measures the temp of the coolant, not the engine. The sensor controls the thermo fans on/off. depending upon temperature.

Thermo-switches are used mainly to control the fans for giving out heat from engines. They can prevent the fans from working at low temperature, can make little heat given out from the surface of engines, keep the engines at the same temperature and economize oil. Additionally, thermo-switches can also be used widely to control the warm-up through entering air, and protect the high/low temperature switches.
