In this case,the RCU is a communication bridge between energy meter concentrator and GSM/GPRS network.Energy data of each dual-rate meter would firstly be collected at energy meter concentrator by RS485.The RCU which has a GSM/GPRS modem inside would then transfer data from energy meter concentrator to the energy distribution center through GPRS,which enables the real time data transferring between meter and data center system.
