The Series 40 is a through-hole insert.
Designed to be placed in the mold cavity prior to plastic injection, HNC Series 40 inserts offer exceptional torque and pull-out/pull-through resistance. Series 40 inserts have generous internal counter bores to facilitate quick and easy installation onto guide pins. In addition, they have an internal minor thread designed to eliminate insert wobble on the guide pin.
Series 44 Blind End Inserts
a blind ended insert, has head-orienting notches to speed orientation of the insert during either manual or automated installation.
Superior Pull-through and Pull-Out Performance
The large, central undercut and geometry displaces a significant amount of plastic material and maximizes the tensile (pull-through and pull-out) resistance of the joint.
Head notches provide additional plastic material displacement and contribute to the increased resistance to pull-out/through. Superior Torque Performance
Hexagonal inserts provide greater torque resistance than round inserts. Superior Insert Positioning After Installation
Minor thread diameter tolerance of +/-0.0015 reduces insert wobble during plastic injection and ensures positive positioning and perpendicularity of the insert in the end product. Increased Mold Efficiency
Generous countersinks increase molding efficiency by simplifying the installation of the insert onto the mold guide pin.
Head notches facilitate orientation for Series 44.
For automated installations onto mold guide pins, the large undercut simplifies the process of using a robotic pick & place unit.
Decrease End-Product Scrap
Series 40, a symmetrical insert, does not require orientation prior to installation and therefore eliminates the possibility of the operator installing the inserts incorrectly and reduces scrap rates.
