The modified contact line between rollers and raceway can reduce stress concentration. Tapered roller bearings can sustain heavy radial loads and axial loads. However, since one tapered roller bearing can only support one-way axial loads,another tapered roller bearing is required to be installed symmetrically in order to support the axial loads from opposite direction.
