BRS Crossed Roller Bearing Features:

2. Suitable where zero operating clearance or preload is required, or the rotational resistance must be especially uniform.

Why High Rotation Accuracy?
The spacer retainer fitting among cross-arrayed rollers prevents rollers from skewing and the rotation torque from increasing caused by friction between rollers. Unlike conventional types using steel sheet retainers, the Cross-Roller Ring does not cause displacement or locking of rollers and provides a stable rotation torque.Since the inner and outer rings are designed to be separable, the highly accurate rotaty motion is ensured through adjusting the bearing clearance to provide a preload.

Why High Rigidity?
Cross arrangement of rollers allows a single Cross-Roller Ring unit to receive loads in all directrions, enabling the rigidity three to four times greater than the conventional type.

Why Large Load Capacity?
The spacer retainer allows a longer effective contact length and more symmetrical loaded areas of each roller compared with the conventional steel sheet retainers, thus signifficantly increasing the load capacity meanwhile protecting the rollers from frictional resistance caused by end-face contact.
