Floating Oil Seal
Commonly-used materials for oil seal include nitrile butadiene rubber, fluororubber, silicon rubber, acrylic rubber, polyurethane, teflon, etc. In selection of oil seal materials, it should take compatibility of material to working medium, adaptability to working temperature and following ability of labial margin to rotation shaft at high speed into account. When oil seal works, the temperature at labial margin is 20-50ºC higher than working medium, this should be paid attention to. Details see kinds and characteristics of rubber: Its working temperature is associated with its material: commonly at -40~120ºC for nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), -30~180ºC for acrylic rubber (ACM), -25~300ºC for fluororubber (FPM).
