Electric Power Steering System
1. Without pumps, tubing, tanks, etc., the main components are integrated together, easy to layout, easy to assemble, and the assembling time is reduced by 80%.
2. EPS uses battery as energy source and motor as power component. EPS hardly consumes engine fuel directly.
3. EPS has no hydraulic device, so no oil leakage problems and also reduces noise (caused by pump). Besides, 95% parts of EPS can be recycled, good for environmental protection.
4. Variable Steering Effort:
The steering force of EPS comes from the motor. Through software programming and hardware control, the variable steering force covering the whole vehicle speed can be obtained.
5. Better Following Performance:
For EPS, the rotating moment is generated by the motor. There is no steering hysteresis effect like in the hydraulic power steering system, which enhances the following performance of road wheel to steering wheel.
6. Improve Returnability:
The ECU of EPS stores a cluster of returnabilitycurves from the lowest to the highest speed, significantlyimproves steering characteristic of the system that matches the dynamic performance of the vehicle.
