Installation

1.Clip on the original car mirror. It does not need to destroy car decoration. 

2.(1)Wireless back-up cameras are only wireless between the dash-mounted monitor and the camera at the back of the vehicle. The camera still needs to be wired in for power and to be turned on. Usually the camera will utilize the vehicle's reverse light circuit for both. The camera piggy backs on the reverse lamp's power, and conveniently the power only comes on when the vehicle is in reverse.
 
 
(2)Loosen the rear license plate bolts or screws and remove the license plate. Insert the license plate bolts or screws through the holes on the camera. You will be using the license plate fasteners to mount the camera. Align the license plate with the camera in position and bolt or screw the assembly to the vehicle.
 
(3)Determine the path for the cable that will run from the camera to the reverse lighting circuit. You can drill a hole or use the license plate light hole. If you are drilling a hole, check behind the area first and then insert the supplied grommet to prevent chaffing and weather penetration to the vehicle. Pass the cable through the grommet and run it to a reverse light.
 
 
(4)Remove the negative cable from the vehicle's battery and then remove the reverse light bulb from its socket. Splice the red wire from the camera onto the red wire that goes to the reverse light socket. Do the same with the black wire. You can just strip a quarter inch of plastic coating off the wire and wrap bare camera-originating wire around the stripped part. Cover with insulation tape.
 
(5)Replace the bulb and replace the negative cable to the battery. Turn on the monitor and adjust the angle of the camera so that the eye points to the rear. The barrel of the camera swivels.
