magicCAR³ is a modular test system architecture.

magicCAR³ is a modularly scalable and miniaturised test system architecture. Thanks to its flexible structure, simple test resources can be integrated or parallelized to autarchic operating test clusters.

This test system fits perfectly as part of a cost-efficient accompanying test environment during the design stage of electronic control units (ECUs). It can also be utilised during end-of-line tests, quality assurance or in parallel/run-in test of automotive electronics.

Bus communication is the focal point of magicCAR³. Applications such as RESTBUS simulation, provision of network management functions or the transport and diagnostic protocols are just a taste of the entire service portfolio.

The provision of all relevant bus interface types (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, K-line, MOST and LVDS) and their OEM-specific characteristics in a minimum space and in real-time is just one unique feature of magicCAR³.

The highly powerful system architecture is complemented by integration opportunities of additional conventional test resources such as analogue and digital I/O or relays with switching currents of up to 40 A.

The Series 61 communication controller is the magicCAR³ systems central control unit. The integrated real-time PC manages and synchronises all test resources. Its Gigabit Ethernet interface providing high speed networking capablity.

Supported by an onboard operating system, the communication controller can be programmed and flexibly adjusted to exact user requirements. Additionally, the operating system runs autarchic, completely independently of a PC host system.

The parallel test of UUTs, e.g. in endurance run / screening / run-in systems, imposes particular challenges to the test technique.

magicCAR³ suits perfectly for test applications, mainly depending on long-term stability and large numbers of UUts to be tested in parallel.
