I. Customs clearance process
Preparation before import
Confirm the HS code and regulatory conditions (e.g. O certificate, CCC certification, etc.).
Apply for automatic import license (if required, the approval takes 5-20 working days).
Old equipment need to apply for CCIC pre-shipment inspection in advance (3-5 working days).
After the arrival of goods in Hong Kong
Exchange of documents: with the bill of lading for the bill of lading (1 working day).
Inspection: submit certificate of origin, quality certificate, etc. (about 3 working days).
Customs declaration: submit invoice, contract, packing list, etc. (about 4 working days).
Tax payment: Customs duty (5-10%), VAT (13%).
Inspection: Customs verifies the nameplate, packaging, etc. and releases the goods after no problem.
Supervision after release
Forensic inspection equipment needs destination inspection (customs inspection of belonging area).
Second, the list of core information
Basic documents: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, trade contract.
Qualification documents: business license, certificate of import and export right, table of declared elements.
Special documents: certificate of origin, electromechanical certificate (if needed), CCIC certificate (old equipment).
Taxation documents: VAT tax-related confirmation, proof of payment of remittance (standby for valuation).
C. Notes
Old equipment: CCIC report, statement of service life must be provided.
Wooden packaging: IPPC fumigation mark is required.
Validation of disputes: prepare supporting evidence such as procurement contracts and payment records.
Statute of limitations reference: 5-7 days for ordinary customs clearance, and the inspection is extended to 7-15 days.
Suggestion: Plan ahead, make sure the documents are complete, and if necessary, appoint a professional customs broker to assist to avoid delays.
