   NTK's PLC crane control system is installed in a protected cabinet in the cab. However, an extreme condition version of the PLC is also available, enabling users to configure enhanced functional safety PLC solutions for harsh conditions and extreme weather, such as those commonly found in certain crane and winch applications.
 
   ABB Safety PLC hardware retains the same look and feel as the AC500 PLC series for non-safety applications, with the same dimensions as standard ABB CPUs and I/O modules, and the same installation and wiring scheme. Two types of modules can be mixed and installed in the same PLC, allowing the system to perform both safety and non-safe functions. This reduces project complexity and cost, and opens up new application options such as direct variable mapping, control system security, and data exchange between non-secure variables.
