Xenon HID headlight stands for high intensity discharge lamp. The general theory of its generating light is as following: the xenon gas combined with metal halogen are excited when they are applied with high voltage by two electric poles, then the xenon atoms skip down from higher energy levels to lower energy levels. That makes xenon atoms emit light with an atom light spectrum. There are four advantages of a xenon HID lamp compared with a normal halogen lamp: 1) A Xenon HID lamp is 3 times brighter than a normal halogen lamp 2) A Xenon HID lamp is 5 times longer lifetime than a normal halogen lamp 3) Energy saving: power rating for normal xenon HID lamp is 35W, but power rating for a normal halogen lamp is 55W 4) Xenon HID lamp has a wide variety of color temperature to choose: from 3,500K to 10,000K The 6,000K Xenon HID lamps (daylight color) are most welcomed by customers. Halogen lamps have only one color temperature which is about 3,000K, and looks dull and dimmer.
