Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) is an intelligent headlamp adjusting system. AFS can swivel and level the headlamp beam pattern based on sensor signal inputs including steering angle, vehicle speed, chassis height, etc. As a result, the vehicle can achieve optimal road illumination effects.
AFS and its subset -Automatic Leveling System (ALS) / Dynamic Headlamp Leveling (DHL) are now mandatory according to the regulation R123 released by ECE.
HiRain Technologies has successfully developed AFS/ALS/DHL products in cooperation with another manufacturer. They have been adopted by several General Motors platforms, such as Global Epsilon and Delta. HiRain is also the primary AFS/ALS/DHL supplier of many local OEMs, such as SGM, FAW, SAIC, GAC, CHANA, GWM and BAIC.
Functions
Our system can be customized to provide the following functions:
Various passing beam patterns
Country light (Class C): Basic passing beam
Motorway light (Class E): Leveling both headlamps upward
Town light (Class V ): turns left headlamp leftward and downward
Bad-weather light (Class W): turns both headlamp outboard and downward, reduces glare to oncoming drivers
Bending Modethe beam patterns switch accordingly with vehicle speed and steering angle
Static levelingautomatically adjusts headlamp pitch angle according to static vehicle load transfer (occupant numbers, luggage)
Dynamic levelingautomatically adjusts headlamp pitch angle according to dynamic vehicle load transfer (accelerationdeceleration)
Advantages
Excelled in performance tests
Low static current
Scalable and customizable
ISO 9001 and TS 16949 certified, with low PPM performance failure
