Cubic Printing is a decoration technology that uses a specialised film printed with a range of natural and abstract patterns decorate complex shaped plastics, metals and other materials. The specialised film is floated on the water's surface and transfer of the pattern is effected by the pressure of the water. With this method, even decoration of complex three dimensional shapes is possible. More than was ever before, CUBIC PRINTING opens us a wider variety of shapes and materials to high quality surface decoration. The integrity of our natural wood and marble pattern, as the modern up to date looks of our sand, leather and abstract pattern has made CUBIC PRINTING the decoration option in a broad range of industries.
CUBIC PRINTING PROCESS:
1. Film printing. The pattern or design is gravure-printed on a water soluble film.
2. Activation. The film is specially treated to activate or "re-wet" the inks.
3. Transfer. The film is floated out the water and the product to be decorated is pressed down into the film to effect the transfer.
4. Film removal and washing. Having fulfilled its role as the medium for the print transfer, the film is washed away.
5. Drying. Water which has adhered to the product during transfer is dried off.
6. Top coating. A transparent top coat is applied to protect the printed surface.
