Gasgoo.com, a premium platform for auto parts sourcing in China

Shanghai. September 29 (Gasgoo.com) –In the first quarter this year,  China exported US $1.936 bln worth auto parts products to the United States, replacing Germany as the biggest auto part supplier, according to a report released by United States Department of Commerce.

However, in the first quarter last year, China exported US $1.52 bln worth auto parts products to the United States while Germany exported US $1.73 bln auto parts to the U.S. in the same period.

The statistics reveal a trend: the U.S. and European auto parts enterprises has shifted their production and sourcing to less developed countries as labor and raw material costs soar  in developed countries. Against this backdrop, China becomes an ideal sourcing target.

Gasgoo.com, the largest B2B web for auto parts sourcing business was born at such a historical juncture. It has created a “Reverse Sourcing” pattern, which means the web provides dozens of thousands of auto parts buyers as well as their demands, requirements and helps them find Chinese suppliers.

“Serve auto parts buyers and help find best supplier is our business,” said Chen Wenkai.

Gasgoo.com has created “BBS”(Big Buyer Service) for leading auto parts buyers, such Renault, Fiat and Auto Zone. About 60 multinational auto parts buyers are using this service now. In addition, Gasgoo.com has created “proxy sourcing” or “emergency sourcing” services for middle and small buyers that have no sourcing offices in China.

Having learned that Renault, one of the first group of big customers using this service, was seeking to purchase sound proof products, Gasgoo.com first identified a huge pool of candidate suppliers from its database and worked closely with automobile associations in parts of China in screening for under-qualified suppliers. Within 15 days, Gasgoo.com has narrowed the choice to 25 suppliers. Finally, Gasgoo.com, via field studies, helped Renault concentrate on five most competitive suppliers, which are very well qualified for Renault.

Gasgoo.com has shortened Renaults sourcing cycle. After this cooperation, Renault has officially authorized Gasgoo.com to conduct all sourcing business, covering car body, chassis, interior designs, engines and electronic devices. Renault hopes to increase its sourcing ability by cooperation with Gasgoo.com.

“With the rapid growth of auto parts exports, the E-commerce platform is becoming more and more important in global trade. More than 50,000 auto parts suppliers have joined Gasgoo.com,” Chen Wenkai said. “We are committed to helping more global auto parts find qualified Chinese suppliers.”
